Salvador Dali - 'Gala Contemplating Sea' RARE BRONZE!

Rare Salvador Dali cast bronze plaque. A rendition of his renowned work ÔGala Contemplating the Mediterranean SeaÕ demonstrating a fascination with perception and the mystery of identity. Dal’ layers multiple optical scales to create two images in one. The concept awakened DaliÕs old fascination with paranoia; specifically, how much of the reading of an image is from the viewer as distinct from the thing being viewed. GalaÕs figure is framed by the cruciform windows through which the viewer is lead to a crucifixion painted in a heavy impasto. Bronze measures 8 3/8" H x 6 1/4" W, mounted on copper lucite measuring 16" H x 16" W. Weighs 6lbs.

**Some items are "Made to Order" which requires additional time to frame. Please allow an additional 4-5 Weeks for framing.**
