"The Manhattan Project"

Albert Einstein and J. Robert Oppenheimer, were two of the most iconic scientists of the 20th Century.  In 1939, Einstein and his colleagues sent a letter to U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, warning of possible German development of nuclear weaponry and urging the United States to do the same.  As a result of this letter, the "Manhattan Project" was born with Oppenheimer at the helm.  Six years later, the first combat-used nuclear bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima & Nagasaki.
